Both Judo and Jujitsu originated in Japan but have now achieved worldwide stature. Judo literally means “soft,” “gentle” or “flexible way.” Judo is a sport that was founded by Jigoro Kano in 1882. It became the first Asian event in the Olympic Games in 1964. Jujitsu is a non-sport version from which Judo derived. Lately, it has been gaining popularity from its Brazilian descendant, known as Brazilian Jujitsu or BJJ. Accordingly, the Jujitsu uniform is the same as the Judo uniform.
